Welcome to our farm - a handful of acres in the middle of Washington State devoted to raising our four children, growing our own food, milking our dairy cow, educating our little ones, and enjoying the wonder of life on the farm. Our UA-cam channel is devoted to sharing the love, purpose, and beauty we find here in our cottage.

HOLIDAY HOMEMAKING | Strategies for Successful Homemaking During The Holidays
Beautiful. Thank you!
I would have liked to heard about the recipe and the measurements.
Anyone else back in June 2024 making this for Saturday dinner? Yum!
booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Why are you directing people to man through therapy? What about JESUS CHRIST, the Way, the Truth, and the Life?
Those look amazing! I make cheesy, sourdough einkorn crackers we’ll never go back to store bought. They are easier than the sourdough hard pretzels. My Amish neighbor sells them and gave me her recipe and I’m still working on getting them to be as good as hers.
Do you have a recipe you could share for the sourdough hard pretzels?
All I wanted was a crackers recipe, my god
I have a report: I finally ordered the Bona Fortuna tomato sauce and marinara sauces. It is unbelievably AWESOME for jarred sauce. As close to homemade as possible. Most people, even gardeners, will not be canning tomato sauce. This is as close to my Italian grandmother’s fresh passata as possible for a jarred sauce. If anyone reads this, keep in mind the passata is just tomato sauce. The marinara sauces are ready for pasta. Thank You for sharing them with us, Shaye!!!
Thank you for insight, it was lovely to hear. Hear hear to doing things different if it's right for you. People wonder why I make my own butter sometimes (especially living in NZ where our diary food is amazing), but I simply say why not? I get a kick out of it too. ❤❤❤
Yummy 😋
What a beautiful video. 🤍
I love your philosophy. Kudos to you and your family. What you all are doing is so sustainable and fulfilling. May God richly bless your family, not so much monetarily, but with the rewards of living and learning the hard way. The takeaway your family will have far outweighs negative people.
These kinds of videos really speak to my heart and move my spirit. It makes me want be different….to do things that “don’t make sense” more often….because I think they are the moments that will create memories in my families hearts. So thank you for inspiring….💕
Thank you, Shaye ♥
You are wise and beautiful. Rare combination.
You Guys are just amazing 🙏💖💖💖💖💖💖💫
I'm too old to care what anyone but the Creator of the Universe thinks about what I do.
Good video, from one weirdo to another!! Love to you both.
What an interesting take on this topic! And I agree, people/friends/family think I'm "weird" to make the things from scratch, that I make my bread, can tomatoes, drink raw milk or buy beef from a farmer. I am tired of seeing posts on social media about how strange it is to take care of your family by cooking or making things from scratch "like making your own crackers". It's learning where REAL food comes from.
Amen ❤ I feel seen! Thank you 😊
Love this.
Not being lazy or everyone else is what makes us unique. When some folks find out how I'm living they think it's pretty kewl. Well first the most part. I love teln my story.
Looks yummy to me!! Great video!!
Yes, so much yes!
You hit the right spot. I wanted to make crackers.......Thanks
LOVED this so much and needed the reminder!!!
Just want to say I appreciate your contribution to this world. I really love the way you and your family enjoy your farm and lifestyle. Thank you for choosing to share some of your ideas in the kitchen and garden. God bless
Totally agree! I appreciate it as well!
I have endless respect and awe for what you're doing. You are most definitely where you're supposed to be.🥰
World changing inventions never come out of status quo thinking. Those inventors were usually thought to be a little weird. My life goal is to burn out bright not fizzle out. 🌞
I think it’s absolutely wonderful that you choose to do things in a more natural way! Hurray for you! I admire your hard work and focus on good health for your family! Keep it up, my friend!
They don't make packaged crackers that look like yours!🖤
My sister always told me WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE DIFFICULT.. I said I'm not you and don't think like u
Amen 🙏
I’ve often told my family that I’m going to get a shirt that says weirdo on it! Nothing like homemade anything as far as we’re concerned.❤
Love the smell of fresh ground grain. I like to let it rest a bit before using and it gives a great aroma while I’m waiting. Another fun video.
The crackers in the box are outrageously expensive.
Beautiful. A bistro set and wine would keep me in a space too 😄
Thank you for sharing 😊
I know this is a few years old but if you happen to read new comments here’s one. Take your spare forks or like I did I went to the thrift store and bought some old forks. Put stem in the soil leaving the forks atop the cats will leave the plants alone and you won’t have logs 😊 so to speak in all of your plants. I had the same problem until someone shared this trick with me. Happy homesteading I love your heart and organization within your home thanks for sharing.
I tasted my pickles after a few days of fermentation and they were good but weak in flavor. Can I add more dill at this point
Thank you Shayne for such a needed and lovely reminder and advice. I think we get stuck in routine and hustle, a that we forget to take in the passing moments that make such a fruitful and memorable season.
I am returning to this video to see how you make giardiniera. Can you can it in oil, or do you have to refrigerate it?
He was using spaghetti arms for that fluff 🤣🤣
What a blessing you are Shaye! Truly wise!
We do something we call our "Phineas and Ferb Summer Adventure Challenge". Basically, we try to have one adventure a day, whether that's having a mini-bake off in the kitchen or taking a hike; or a bigger adventure like a trip to the river or a theme park.
Your tool looked like a Hori hori knife but it was hard to tell not having a close up. I love my hori and love getting them for garden friends.
Do you worry about the health risked to your kids living around orchards due pesticides used?
Brilliant - The works with the family and involvement - absolutely brilliant
Just ..Wanted to say how much ..your channel has meant to my wife°..
What a great video, with so many valuable reminders! Thanks, Elliotts! 😊
love it!
